Weight Watchers – 2/14/’10.
Okay, so you’ve stayed with your New Year’s resolution and you’ve been working out consistently and you’ve changed your eating habits a bit but not sure if you’re still taking in too many calories and you haven’t been losing as much weight as you’d hoped for. Spring is fast approaching and you want to be in better shape and be ready for bathing suit season, so what do you do!!! Well the answer is simple. You need help and fast so my recommendation would be Weight Watchers.
Over the years and presently I’ve had a number of clients use the Weight Watchers program in conjunction with training with me with great success. Weight Watchers has point based plans which control portion size which in turn generates steady weight loss. Along with great support and advice, you’re taught healthier eating habits, such as the caloric content of foods and portion control, and the good thing is you don’t have to buy their products, you can use regular food from your local supermarket.
You can do a weekly weigh-in at the group support meetings or you can do the Weight Watchers At Home/Online program if you’d like to keep your privacy or you’re sensitive about your weight. There’s also a newer program called “TurnAround” that gives you the choice of the Flex Plan which is tracking the points/calories in your food options but doesn’t necessarily teach you in-depth about nutrition, or the Core Plan where you don’t have to track points but you focus more on controlling your calories from a supplied list of nutritional foods from the USDA food pyramid and you learn lifelong healthy nutrition and good eating habits.
With so many diet fads, gimmicks and false advertisements out there, Weight Watchers is definitely a leader in diet programs and if it’s used in conjunction with a good fitness regimen the results can be nothing short of astounding, so go ahead, give it a try, it might just be the shot in the arm that you need to lose those last few extra pounds and be ready in time for bathing suit season.
